James Wedlock is an award-winning film composer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist with a studio based in south London. He has composed music for numerous films and documentaries (Maiken - 2023, When the Clapping Stops - 2022, Don't You Want Me, Baby - 2022).
He has recently signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell to provide them with music for sync licensing opportunities for Film and TV.
James recently composed the soundtrack to the short film, A Glimpse, which won 4 international awards and received a further 8 nominations. The film was premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The soundtrack has also been nominated for the PEER RABEN MUSIC AWARD for the best music in a short film.
James has completed an MA in Professional Media Composition at ThinkSpace Education. While studying, James developed his proficiency in writing music for film, TV, and games, leading to a collaboration with filmmakers at the London Met Film School and many other clients from around the world. He has become known in particular for his thematic, Disney-esque style, and light touch with the orchestra.
James is a guitarist, but also performs and records other acoustic instruments for added depth, realism and authenticity. James frequently blends non-traditional instruments with found sounds and electronics to achieve a unique tone and voice in his music.
